So You Think retired to stud
Ten-time Group One winner So You Think has been officially retired to stud and will not race in this weekend's Eclipse Stakes at Sandown Park in the UK.
A pulled muscle in his hind quarter ruled him out of the 2km race - which was scheduled to be his last - and the six-year-old will now return to Australia for the southern hemisphere breeding season.
Tom Magnier, of the horse's owner Coolmore Stud, said So You Think had a fantastic journey.
"It's a big disappointment that he'll miss the Eclipse, but he's had a wonderful racing career and now it's time for him to shine at stud," Magnier said.
"His book reads like a who's who of all the best mares and breeders so he'll get the best possible start."
So You Think was trained by Bart Cummings when he won consecutive Cox Plates in 2009-10, but he shifted to Irish Trainer Aidan O'Brien's facility in Tipperary late in 2010.
The stallion had been in tremendous form in 2012, winning Group Ones at the Tattersalls Gold Cup in May and most recently at the Prince of Wales Stakes on June 20 - his final win.
So You Think won $8 million in prize money and will stand for $66,000 at stud.
